About me

I've been studying music for most of my life and enjoy nothing more than playing, writing, and helping students to enjoy doing that too. I studied instrumental and theory grades and did my GSCE and A-Level courses in music; I was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

I've just finished a Bachelor's degree at London’s Royal Academy of Music, where I majored in composition, and also studied saxophone and the erhu (a traditional Chinese fiddle).

I recently moved to Nottingham where I am teaching saxophone, music theory, and composition to students of all ability. I also help students with the practical musicianship elements of their studies, such as aural, sight-reading, and piano playing. I am particularly keen to teach students who don't necessarily wish to take grade exams and to help them figure out their own interests and develop in the manner in which they want to.
